ONDE to build an energy storage facility for R.Power

ONDE has signed an agreement with a Polish special-purpose vehicle from the R.Power Group for the design and construction of a battery energy storage system (BESS) located in Poland. The contract is worth nearly PLN 118 million.

The ONDE Group, a contractor and developer specialising in renewable energy, will deliver another battery energy storage system (BESS) project. The investor and contracting entity is a special-purpose vehicle belonging to the R.Power Group – an independent power producer (IPP) developing one of the largest portfolios of energy storage projects in Europe.

Design work and equipment procurement will commence immediately after the agreement is concluded. The scope of work includes both construction and electrical power engineering works. Construction work will commence after the investor issues a written notice to proceed. The facility is scheduled to be commissioned in 2027. The total net value of the agreement is PLN 117,814,096.

– We have built more than 100 solar farms for R.Power, with a combined capacity of approximately 200 MW. The agreement we have now signed represents another important milestone in our cooperation. It is also another energy storage project added to our portfolio – further proof that ONDE is ready to play an active role in what is currently one of the most promising segments of the renewable energy market. According to the projections set out in the National Energy and Climate Plan, battery storage capacity is expected to more than quadruple by 2040, reaching 8.7 GW. This will include both large-scale stand-alone storage facilities and systems co-located with renewable energy projects as an integral part of efficient energy infrastructure.
